2023 Men’s Hermann Trophy Watch List Announced

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (Aug. 24, 2023) – United Soccer Coaches announced the 37 NCAA Men’s Division I college soccer players named to the 2023 Hermann Trophy Watch List on Thursday.

A total of eight of the players on the list earned previous All-America recognition from United Soccer Coaches including: University of Kentucky sophomore goalkeeper Casper Mols, University of Pennsylvania junior defender Leo Burney, University of New Hampshire senior midfielder Yannick Bright, University of Akron junior midfielder Dyson Clapier, Hofstra University junior midfielder Eliot Goldthorp, Ohio State University senior midfielder Laurence Wootton, University of Pennsylvania junior forward Stas Korzeniowski, and Lipscomb University senior forward Tyrese Spicer.

The Hermann Trophy is presented annually by the Missouri Athletic Club and is the nation’s highest individual honor recognizing the National Player of the Year as determined by the voting of Division I coaches who are members of United Soccer Coaches.

The 2023 Women’s Hermann Trophy Watch List was announced on Thursday, Aug. 17th.

Fifteen men’s players and 15 women’s players will become Hermann Trophy semifinalists following completion of Division I All-America voting at the end of the fall season. On December 6th, the three women’s finalists will be announced and on December 13th, the men’s three finalists will be released.

The 2023 winner is revealed on Jan. 5th, 2024, at a ceremony at the historic Missouri Athletic Club in St. Louis, Mo.
